Last man Standing...

Oh bugger...

Gerry...

Senora O'Blene and I have been immersed in the third or fourth series of 'New Tricks' this week, and to learn of this is so sad!

We remember 'The Sweeny' from a way back, and also bought the set of 'Minder' with just him as 'Arfur's' mate, so tonight we'll raise a glass to a great bloke!

I had a chance to meet him about fifteen years ago, when I was working on an event at a golf club with a few well-known names and also clients of the firm! The day was a hoot, and I can still remember him, sitting at a table on his own with a pint, and he winked as though a chat should be in order, and because I really had to keep the buzz going with the event, all I managed was a wave back and I never made proper contact!

Oh bollocks, I really wish I had...

I can easily imagine him at the Pearly Gates asking St Peter - "did Arthur manage to get in?"

I really do feel pretty bad about yet another name disappearing off the face of our countryside!

Yes, these moments of regret, I've had a few, I suspect many have. [Goes off, wistfully.]

Coincidence! Just seen your comment!

I think we had the Oliver record with him on it, but fifty or so years is quite a long time to remember what happened to it!

Something so likeable about the guy whatever show he was in, shame he's gone.

Absolutely, Thud!

We couldn't watch New Tricks for several days afterwards!

How's the house going?

All OK here scrobs PP on barn through but issues with PP for main house but I'm flexible so it should all come good, too old to worry about stuff like that now, busy enjoying the small things...you?

Much better than a while ago, Senora is still not too fit, but spirits are high!

New dog means much more exercise, and the garden is a riot now, thanks to some rain!

No more building jobs now, had a new bathroom and stair-lift fitted and all seems easier, thank goodness!
