Christmas is cancelled...

It's out of the question that this year is going to be anything but a disaster!

I've only managed to get hold of ONE DRUM of these superb comestibles, and they're nearly gone now!

I really don't know what could be worse this year, a run of useless BBC repeats, some awful 'specials', a final listen to 'A fairy tale in Sodden Prickney', or a complete disassociation from one of life's delicacies!

Scrobs is totally distraught...

While I am here, I just thought that guests could see what a real Scrobs signature looks like!

I haven't a clue who 'Michael' is, but I suppose he's some sort of dribbling idiot out there somewhere...

Oh Scrobs, my poor dear chum. GG can't stand to see a chap bereft of a favourite snack so at great expense I have just trawled through the whole internet both here and at the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter and think I may have found you some. Try Googling "Bestway Wholesale" and register as a valued customer then go for it. I too would be heartbroken if I had no Maynard's wine gums to go at this next week.

Mince pies may be one answer, they certainly brighten up our gloom. Warmed of course and consumed with a cup of coffee...

...curses, we've finished the first batch already.

That's very kind of you to seek the info, GG, but the nearest is in Sarf London, and probably the last place I'll ever go at this troubled time!

I did get to our fave butcher early this morning though, and got four pork chops the size of an elephant, at 14oz each...

I nearly didn't get there, as there had been a prang on the way, with Plod everywhere, and a mile of stationery traffic! Phew...

(Scrobs knows his lanes, he does)!

Mince pies are well-known 'vanishers', Mr H!

Senora O'Blene makes them at a dozen a time, and they're often a suitable accompaniment to a healthy cup of strong tea at 4.00am, when JRT wishes to visit the garden for the necessaries...

Already have, Thud!

This week, we've decided that the whole seven days will be devoted to enslurpment, and by the time we have woken up, it'll be The New Year!

OH got a large pork loin with all the nice fat still on it so he's cutting off two thick pork chops for tomorrow's evening meal and freezing the rest for another time. Tonight we're having some more Guinea fowl with various accompaniments including leeks in a cream sauce (MEGA-DROOLLLLLLLLLLINGS !!!!)and further partakings of some home-made mince pies given to us as a gift by a neighbour. Now, I'm not a lover of pastry but these are to die for! God love ya and bugger the waistline!

Aaaaah! Pork chops are so fabulous from our butcher, Andersons in Cranbrook! I always get a few whenever I'm over there, and most of them are nearly a pound in weight, so we have one between us, which seems a bit sad, but Senora O'Blene and I eat like birds these days...

I hope your Christmas went as well as ours, and judging by the empty space in the Glenfiddich bottle, it's no wonder I have a slight headache this morning...
