I still love the thrill of opening them, ours look to be ready next week and the kids are raring to go!

It's a thing of beauty, a freshly opened conker.

But but but!!! Did not the EU/Elfinsafety idiots/local council fanatics/bossy school marms, Hattie-like battleship matrons etc etc rule that conkers is out of bounds for ordinary tax-paying 8 year olds who wish to bash each other's brains out by making a hole through the middle of one, adding a bit of string, calling it a oncer and generally having fun like their granddads did all those years ago?

Correct me if I am mistaken...

PS I am getting heartily fed up with this idiot "not a robot
whatnot!!

Sorry about the robot thing, Reevers, just ignore it - I know who you are!

As for conkers, there was always the hole in the palm of the hand from an errant screwdriver being pushed in a little bit too far...
