Bit of a big time here – too much to happen in just two weeks...
· First tomatoes through
· First cucumbers up and running
· Mrs S’s sister over from Richmond, Virginia for the celebrations
· Chance of the biggest hotel site we are chasing for development becoming reality – last bit of work before I pack up the company mouse.
· Finding that I may be able to record my favourite tapes to PC – then Ipod with ‘Kristal’ software
· Having to wake up last Sunday knowing that JRT would be going to kennels that afternoon
· Driving home from kennels – empty this bit...
· Finding suitcases in attic – some still had the old Italian labels...
· Waking hellish early for huge day on Monday
· Getting downstairs for life-saving tea with no JRT to check out and cuddle
· Arriving at hotel in snow storm to find Younger Daught has champagne and sandwiches for us – all in our room – and also the very same operations room from where we’ll go to the ceremony. Poor Elder Daught in agony from bad back
· New suit and boots
· Being told by staff that the wedding will be done like this...!!!
· Faure’s ‘Pavane’
· ‘Who gives this woman etc etc...’ ?
· I do
· Marvellous ceremony; Younger Daught looks stunning, and so does Mrs S!
· Give Younger Daught away
· Son-in-Law a smashing bloke – love him to bits!
· Champagne and sunshine
· Wedding breakfast – fantastic food, wine, company, friends, chat, ...
· Father of Bride speech which had been muttered on computer for a month...
· Celidh; and now I know the steps to ‘Strip the willow’ after all these years
· Big disco and learning the words with a new Irish chum to “Aaaaargh worghhhh eeeeergh boooomph...”
· Seeing several of her oldest chums all together – last time was when she was at school...
· Actually, enjoying a damn good dance with her University flatmate as well...
· Two hours sleep
· Younger Daught’s Birthday the next day!
· They’re off to The Carribean
· We pick up JRT – huge waggy welcome
· Trying to get back to normality
· Morose at piece of music to go on PC – ‘Salva Me’, and ‘Philadelphia’ by Neil Young
· Mrs S’s sister returns home
· Back to the future...

What a lovely post Scroblene. You must be very proud of your daughter.
Fleeters; nice of you to call by.
Yes, she's fine and dandy; luckily not too far away too! (when they eventually get back that is)!
Oh Scrobs , What a lovely description of the Wedding, I felt as if I was there, you and Mrs Scrobs have a lot to be proud of. Wonderful !
I do hope Elder Daughter is feeling better, re back problem, sadly, as we all know, back problems can take some time to repair, so, 'fingers crossed' for a speedy recovery.
I do hope, also, JRT had an enjoyable stay at his 'Doggie Hotel' and has forgiven you, for not taking him to the wedding, in the first place.
I don`t doubt, a large chunk of Wedding Cake will comfort him !
Good luck with the Hotel Site Project, you must be oozing with talent to be able to handle such large projects, so fingers crossed!
Di.xx.
P.S. I`ve posted a little 'Bulletin' on my Trubes Site for your perusal, any words of comfort will most welcome. xx site
Mr Scrobs
As you know full well, If you pull the hotel deal off you will be hungry for the next one (+:
I never want to retire.
"A deal a day keeps the grim reaper away"
Fab description.. you sound so mournful about JRT though - bit like some other dog lovers I know who are leaving their "beloveds" for a month in England;-)
Anyway, congrats to younger daught, though would be curious to know where in the Caribbean she chose, and best wishes to elder daught.
Back to a bright family future too, S. A son and all his family joining yours!
Afternoon Clerk; you're dead right - we need to be up with them all the time - take no prisoners...
Can't retire ever while there's stuff to be done!
Laders; Thanks for that, we were only apprehensive as JRT has got her paws closely in our hands, and we love her influence on how we live - plus the weight loss we get from the incessant exercise...
YD and NewHub have gone to St Lucia, where they are attemting to diminish the rum lake apparently...
ED's on the mend and thankyou for your kind words!
Hats; absolutely right!
Can't wait for Grandchildren about which there have been some mutterances in the last year or so; usually from Mrs S and me!
Otherwise, as long as they get started as Mr and Mrs - well - who could ask for more at this stage?
Hiya Trubes; nice of you to rise up from your bed and get over here - very welcome of course!
Yup, JRT has forgotten and she is back to norm...
ED is luckily on the mend and YD and Newhub are trying to match the others drink for drink...
Hotel seems a bit closer after a few nice looking emails; so yes; fingers crossed and nose well and truly down to nail this one!
You keep going eh?
Congrats to the couple! Assume you will be sleeping for the next 2 weeks, sounds like a manic March!
Thanks Tuscs - yes...manic in the extreme; but we're getting there it seems!
Mrs S demanded a decent bottle on the strength of a pleasant email today, so this is a euphoric time...
Don't want to switch over to reality just yet.
Congrats! A nice happy post, something even I can't rant about. Well done!
Oh Happy Days, Scrobbers! Pleased to hear about the emails too!
Pleased to hear all is rosey with you and yours.
Congrats to your daughter (well both actually)
That all sounded very good indeed.
Ranters - yup, there wasn't anything we could get upset about...
Mind you, my best shirt seems to have developed all sorts of different colours...
Lils; Still getting over it all really; email gets all sorts of people chatting - and I'm all the better for that!
Hope Lil Lil is well too!
Lucien, thankyou - yes, rosier than a rosy person's rosy bits!
Thanks Elecs, there really is a danger all this may well turn out OK!
