Slip sliding away...

Mrs S has just reminded me that we have to have the Scroblene Turrets sewage treatment system emptied this week.

The firm we use are great, they turn up on time, are no hassle, clean up afterwards, and leave quietly with a cheque for £85.

The name of the firm is 'Sucklifts'.

Says it all really...

I have a mate who owns a chemical bogs company. He has a big truck with a sucking attachment. Poor blighter gets more stick down the pub than anyone else I know.

Impeccable personal hygiene though.

They're amazing Fleeters; they pull out all the stuff and hose down (while moaning about the bloke who put the kit in), and leave us absolutely turdless!

Your mate is a special man, who deserves a lot of Kudos. We have a bloke who parks his 'Toilets on site' lorry near us at weekends, but somehow, I like him because he has to do something I would never do for a living - rather like being a Nulab politician really , all 'crap and noise' but no substance.

Your chum is probably one of the nicest you could ever meet. Thanks for that!

odd
I saw a chap in a lorry the other morning emptying chemical bogs, my first thought was
"I bet you wish you had worked harder at school"

Hitch; you're probably right, but when the chap arrived today, around 8.30am, (he'd had difficulty finding the house), he was knowledgeable and helpful about the system we have (private one-household not a septic tank or cess pool - that's a blog on it's own)! He wanted to give advice on how to save me money by servicing the machinery; when to do certain things etc, and I felt he was proud of his skills - although boiling out turds from a hole in the ground is not my favourite career choice.

So, I suppose I have to revert to my old adage in life; 'if you empty sewage, but you're the best sewage emptier, you've succeeded where others have failed'.

Still pongs a bit though ;0)

Lils; my Dad once told me that when he was a sprog builder, he had to dig out an old cess-pit to put in something or other (nineteen-thirties this is), and his beard grew twice as fast!

They trained 'em like that then...

Since then although drains and me have a smouldering respect/contempt, I don't mind getting dirty to get the job done, after all, shit happens most days... ;0)

I really don't know why I'm posting this, but I've just had to rod out the drains; in the dark, with nothing but touch and a small torch to guide me...

It seems that the outflow becomes clogged after emptying, and forms a crust which can cause a backup...

D'you know, I could write a book on how to do this!

Plus the fact that JRT has just presented me with a requirement to clear the passage to the church (our evening walk).

So just be thankfull that you know I've washed my hands, (twice), and feel that anyone who tries to give me any more s*** over the next couple of days will be too bloody late out of the starting blocks!

Kev, it's gone up to £90 now!

That presumably is why bears s***in the woods, it's cheaper...
