Old git's digit...

Mrs S is carting me off to the surgery today, to have an op on my left hand.

Somehow, the powers of the Dupuytren's Membership Society have blessed me with a life subscription, and having had the right hand chopped open and mended last year, the other one needs a service as well. It will be interesting which limb will be affected next...

So if the next post has a few spelling mistakes, it'll be because there'll be blood all over the keyboard, and excessive hand shakes because I'm not allowed to eat or drink today...

Oh, Scrobbers sweetheart! Be brave! And dont forget you will be unable to do any light chores again until Christmas (info for your family ;-))

Good luck. I presume, in the true scrobs tradition, you'll be waving aside any offer of anaesthetic.

Do Vikings need anaesthetics, TT, being naturally brave? Take care, and don't look S.

Scroblene,

How interesting I will be going under the knife myself on my left hand and arm, very soon.

I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery!

I was ten and had a 1 inch splinter removed from my thumb - it had gone under the nail and past the joint but the doctor hadn't realised it. He just kept nibbling away with a pair of clippers "not much further" he kept saying. I had my whole thumb nail taken off bit by bit without anaesthetic - the bloody Nazis used to torture prisoners by that method. Excrutiatingly painful.

I also road my bike into the back of a parked van (aged 35) and severed a tendon. 3 months off work.

I also had an abscess removed from my arse - 8 weeks off work.

I had the snip at Christmas - priceless. I've been as horny as hell since. You ought to try it, Scrobs.

'Rode' my bike, of course.

Good luck.

Boyfriend had the snip too E-K, and he's a right little raver;-0

That splinter story is horrible, you poor little thing. I know a czech woman who had her tonsils removed without anaesthetic as a child. They were lined up at school for the proceedure.

Pshaw. Rookies. You lot know nothing of pain until you've had a bone biopsy.

Good luck Scrobbers, and rest that hand properly before you start typing again.

I had a very painful operation yesterday, and again today.

My wallet was removed from my jacket, opened up and emptied of its contents by a group of charlatan surgeoans who called themselves names like William Hill, Victor Chandler and Tote Sport.

They are operating in the Goodwood area. Don't trust them.

Now there's a present that's difficult to place under the tree.

Yes Lilith - it doesn't taste any different though.
