Thumper...
For no reason, I started humming this song a couple of days ago. I actually quite like a forceful beat, not rock-ape thicko stuff, but something with the occasional brain cell included in the price, and that's why I liked Joanni by Kate Bush! (Well, Kate Bush looks like Pips, so I'd have to wouldn't I...)!
Any'ow, I can easily remember the Bee Gees on their first outing on the Beeb's Top of the pops, and they played (or mimed, as their guitars weren't plugged in) this song.
When Mrs S was seriously poorly, and in hospital with all sorts of bits going wrong, the Babes were under Scrobs' control, and doing their level best. On one visit, I managed to get a request on the hospital radio, and we got Massachusetts played. The Babes became even more precious then...
Some say that Scrobs is losing his marbles, but not to his face thank goodness...

As usual super music from our host. Regrettably I can't access "this song" as "the uploader has not made it available in your territory"... Tant pis.
It is nice hearing a specially requested tune played on the wireless too, isn't it?
That reminded me of an incident in a previous existence many years ago. I was about to move on after a 4 year sojourn in one of the world's most delightful locations, and on the morning of my departure later the same evening, I got a call at home from my favourite local radio DJ (a gorgeous lady who used to come swimming with me almost daily. She invariably dressed in a tight white fitting unlined swimsuit which when it was wet....er.. anyway....) who told me to tune into her programme which was about to start.
The first song, complete with a fulsome [substitute your own adjective here if you waqnt to] introduction was this dedicated solely to li'l ol' me.
Some wonderful memories remain for ever and it just takes one little beep to awaken them.

"I will never say goodbye to Ella".
"I will play her music till the day I die. RIP".
"Wonderful - the voice of an angel".
Amen to that Reevers!
And you're right, it takes only one beep, or in the case of the Bee Gees, one squeak...
Now about this lady DJ, with whom you were practising the....
I have discovered what you have been working on in your shed Scrobs. I am amazed they didn't stop the installation at the Pinetum
I like the Bee Gees. All teeth and trousers.
You Win Again seems like yesterday.
Amazing Lils! Thank you!
There's always time to do that there, at the moment thay're clearing a lot of old stuff, so just a few bits might not be missed...
They're OK aren't they Elecs!
'Spirits having flown' is still a favourite.
You can stop dribbling now Scrobs...
Purely platonic I assure you as her Scandinavian husband (lucky fellow!) was about 8 inches taller and several pounds heavier than me. Looky but no touchy.
