I asked a learned friend who knows these things exactly that, Lakes, and he had to admit that this was a new one on him.
However, from my own experience of Welsh matches, especially against England, there were normally only a few seconds from the whistle before a punch-up occurred...!
The Telegraph gave him a very nice obituary this week.
