  4. I bet the cat was looking at its reflection in the glass door, wondering why the dogs were facing the wrong way.

  6. Ha ha ha, MrMC! 'Cat wars' are never easy to control, even after a night on the tiles!

Years ago, one of our cats used to stay out until around 2.00am, then climb up the wistaria outside the bedroom windo and want to be let in!

  7. Cats can see through mirrors, Mr H! They use a mirror as a reflection only to reinforce their belief that they don't have 'owners', only 'staff'!

  10. Sackerson gave me a youtube clip after I posted about a temple built with no nails to give you a start, can we all come and watch it being tested ?

  11. Does your construction expertise stretch to business development?

I used to know a few guys near you in that business, as I was one of them!

  12. You did tell me that you were a dab hand at woodwork, my expertise in this matter extends to receiving splinters without too much anglo saxon, I did put up a shelf once and got so frustrated I ended up banging six inch nails in a row into the wall and balancing it, and it worked, I thought as an artisan you might appreciate what they did and how it worked, the ability to consruct an earhtquake proof building 1000 years ago

  15. RE construction expertise I am not of the civil engineer type but have been intimately involved with HS2 M25 North Circular London, Various guided busways and the celebrated new tube line under London the Elizabeth line

I suggest when we go for your shed project we also try for a tunnel as I know some machines going cheap now after the TFL project, and have sonme useful contacts and thinking about it, maybe consider a guided busway ? and a motorway with no hard shoulder ? (I'm proud of that one. ignoring the police, ambulance and fire brigade) maybe your wife cpould be recruited to keep an eye out for the drunk texting lorry drivers ?

As you said, business development, lets meet to sketch it out

  16. The latest shed project is setting up a polishing wheel for all the bits of brass etc., around the house...

But it's too damn cold to work out there at the moment, so it's now a job of scanning about three thousand old photos for posterity (as posted earlier)!

Also plans are afoot to digitise three-hundred favourite cassettes before they all seize up and stop working...

(Used to know Huntingate near you in the nineties...)!

  20. You must look at the Dodo video about the dog obsessed with metal food bowls. There are two vids of them but my favourite is when he gets a surprise present. As for cats, there are loads of Dodo vids on them which I watch at night. Your mention of
shed projects is dear to my heart because I've fallen in love with my little inherited shed but it is in desperate need of repair, bless it. Help will be on its way shortly with some new wood, nails for the roofing felt and anything else its little heart desires.

  24. I only found out yesterday, that my shed has sprung a leak, and my special cable reel is soaked...

Now that really is headline news!

  25. Oh bugger, it was next to my new mower - must check a.s.a.p...

  26. Sorry about your leaky shed Scrobs as this doesn't bode well for the competition does it! MrMC, as I roll my own I like the partaking of the rough shag but as for wrinkled old porn ...er.. nah! I prefer it hot off the press as it were. Now back to the shed compo. Whilst my mind just suddenly wandered off somewhere I had a few thoughts about mine so will take a pic of the inside and out then jolly it up over the next few months or so. I'm afraid it won't be ready for the end of March so I will miss the first entry but it should be in fine fettle for a cold summer's afternoon by which time Scrobs should have everything dried out and working but I wouldn't bet on it being up to H&S standards judging by his past near-death episodes.
