What is so strange is that here we are, in The Garden of England, with apple trees everywhere (yes, still), and there are hardly any craft distillers making it.
I've found one, Greensand, but their apple brandy is still in cask, so we'll need to wait awhile, but come on, we're only a few miles from Normandy as well, and they make the stuff everywhere!
Anyway, the pic shows one of our favourites, and when the apple season really starts to motor, I'll be on the lookout up to fifty miles in any direction...
I may or may not know of a still nearby....I think you would like the result.
ReplyDeleteThud, that's magnificent!
ReplyDeleteAnd, bugger me, I was swanning around Waitrose today (as one does), and searched the bottom shelves with some expertise, and lo and behold, a bottle was there - but 50cl for nearly £23.00...
Gulp...
We only want to drink it, not pray to it...
And as it is made from apples it counts as one of your five a day.
ReplyDeleteHe can't afford to drink one a month never mind five a day unless there's something he's not telling us. Come on you, own up! You've either won the lottery, the Premium Bonds, got a cheque from HMRC (how did you fiddle that?), or you've just got lucky with your metal-detector and found a new Saxon hoard. We're your bezzie mates and we promise not to tell anyone - honest!
