Old card...

This has been kicking around our kitchen for ages now. It used to be stuck to the fridge, then a cupboard and now back on a shelf again, because I always have a chuckle when I see it!

I didn't realise until just now though, that it was a birthday card to me from ED, in 1996...!

(Gary Larson is just about the funniest cartoonist I've ever seen, and I have most of his books, so I hope he won't mind me putting this up)!

  1. I like Gary Larson too. Lots of his cartoons on the web now. Never bought a book though, just chuckled my way through them in W H Smith every now and then.

  2. Was it Monty Python or Peter Cook or maybe Kenny Everett?

Judge: There is an important paper missing from this file.

Lawyer (to junior): Fax it up.

Judge: Yes it does rather, doesn't it....

    (I'll get my coat..)

  3. They were on sale in a local bookshop years ago, Mr H. Mrs Scroblene needed a few bits for my birthday.

They are still worth a peek these days, but the one ED sent me is still a fave!

  4. Ha ha ha, Reevers!

Not sure it was Python, and more likely Everett...

He was such a funny bloke, I'd have loved to meet him. Apparently, his prog was just before Michael Aspel's, and Ev would say all sorts of outlandish things, and Aspel couldn't hear them so had to follow on clueless! It really was very funny!

  6. I agree on Larson being the best. My guitar duo was called The Far Side.
