Vegetable aftermath...

Well, after all this good harvesting, there's always a pay-back isn't there...

This has been such a great summer for growing vegetables, and it looks as though it will continue for several weeks...

Pity about the after-effects though!

  1. Hiya Scrobs! We got here in time to plant runner beans and sweet peas, but the other day I made the mistake of buying a lentil salad.... xxx

  2. Aaaaawwwwh, Lils - love of my life! So good to see your name in lights here again!

Yup, a good year for beans and deffers for sweet peas, so you got your priorities right!

Did you ever go to see what a certain gink called 'Growster' was up to on the allotment pages...?

    Love to you and J!

(PS, thought of you this morning as the 'other' azalia was in need of some attention)!

Have you come down from the ceiling with the lentil salad though - dangerous stuff that, almost as bad as goat oil!

Aaaaw, lovely to see you back here, I've missed you!

  3. Ah "Scrob's Azalia" is desperate for re-potting. I haven't done it because I am hoping to create an ericaceous bed, but have stalled due to cost of two tonnes of soil...

It took the bastards two months to get us online, by which time I had just about lost the habit, and then we had all that lovely weather...and now I am just too depressed about Syria to blog about anything.

I won't make the lentil salad mistake again...stick to cheese toasties is what I say :-)

  4. Blimey Lils, I knew you had some connections in Syria, but don't let that get in the way of a good vegetable curry and a pint of Guinness!

Please get the habit back, and I'll pop over anyway!

  5. Hallo Scrobs - not deserted you, but the sudden and unexpected loss of a very valued family member a couple of weeks ago at a relatively young age has knocked the stuffing out of us - and me especially. There is now a hole the size of the Grand Canyon in front of us and it will take us a long time to recover.

My sense of humour has also disappeared (temporarily, I hope) with her demise and I have hardly touched the computer since, except to check for urgent emails. The blogosphere will have to get by with out me.....

I will return one day (bad-penny-like!) but meanwhile suggest you get out your soup making recipe books in preparation for the winter.
Agree with Lilith about Syria and environs. Lunacy writ large.

Reevers, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Completely understand, and we'll all still be here when you want to come back again.
