If I'd *already been in New York* I would have hunkered down and enjoyed the show. I am not sure I would have flown there expecting it to be AOK.
And I am not a shrinking violet when it comes to visiting interesting places. But I think it would be perfectly acceptable for overseas tourists to shun London for a few days post 7/7 for example.
BUT you have to remember that to take a marathon seriously you have to be at the autistic end of the obsessive scale.
I think it's bonkers that anyone went out. Did they really not expect it to be cancelled ?
