To the woods...

Some of the trees round here are pretty impressive, and although we're not 'huggers', they do have some great character!
The top one we call 'Raging insect', and it really is quite frightening when you first see it.
The second one is called 'Moose', and he really is an old softy...

  1. I love the fact that some trees can keep going for hundreds of years. We seem so ephemeral by comparison.

  2. The top one is a bit of a scary brute isn't it...

  3. A good book by Penguine The Secret Life of Trees.

Reading it at the moment. Did you know some trees are older than recorded human history ?

  4. Hugging trees is good. Elby and I had our first snog in the arms of a Sequoia...the mad trees you have pictured...they are very cuddly indeed.

  6. Fantastic. There's something indefinably and primordially terrifying about odd shaped trees at night. Glad I don't have an "insect" in my woods.
