Since my last post, when I began to get cross about our local playing fields being used just for growing grass, something's happened...
On a day last week, I saw two lads chipping golf balls from one side to the other, which is an encouraging sign, and just now, there was a older lad, (older than me actually, which is saying something), doing the same thing!
Hurrah!
Now all I have to do is work out how to retrieve a Dunlop 65 from a small dog's bum.
But it's a start!
Hoover?
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha HG!
ReplyDeleteFabulous!
Good post you did this am too...
Tut, she lowers the tone, that Hertfordshire lass.
ReplyDeleteBarney my dog (when I was but wee laddie) trotted up the garden path with a skipping rope hanging out of his arse. He'd chewed the handles off the girl's next door and swallowed the rope.
I said "Dad, we've got to take Barney to the vet."
"No we haven't" He replied "Fetch me his ball and a brick."
I did as I was told and my Dad put the brick on the knot and threw the ball and shouted "Fetch !"
A bit of a yelp but otherwise no harm done.
Good luck with the retreival!!
ReplyDeleteThey could be ploughed up for allotments...
ReplyDeleteE-K...Ha Ha!
ReplyDeleteCby insoc...Normal service resumed this am!
Mutley...I've often thought of planting all the big veg, like courgettes, or spuds, in a deserted part of the woods, where nobody would find them. That way, we could grow all the small salad stuff in the garden.
The allotments across the road went for housing years ago, but we had a plot on another holding, which is still there.
I still hanker after going back there, but Mrs S says no, and I've sold the cultivator!
Was the dog Mutley?
ReplyDeleteCan you check for my Penfold Hearts while you're up there with the probe, scrobs?
ReplyDeleteI've got about 100 golf balls all over the house and in the sheds, a full set of clubs in the roof, proper shoes and silly trousers, and I don't even play the bloody game any more!
ReplyDeleteI also have a putter by the front door, to smash the fingers on anyone trying to get in. Now that makes much more sense!
I will look though Tony, as she eats everything in her path...

Why would I want a Portuguese tee shirt in this weather! Also they've gone down in my estimation recently, not least for even considering allowing Mugabe into Europe. It's full of enough tyrants already!
